The 2025 West Seattle Glass Float Hunt - August 8 – 15, 2025

The West Seattle Junction Association and West Seattle Chamber of Commerce invite everyone to search for glass floats hidden throughout West Seattle, both inside beloved local businesses and outdoors. The West Seattle Glass Float Hunt brings joy to the community and helps promote the businesses who are the backbone of our neighborhood. Why do we do it?

·        To highlight our beautiful community, the diverse landscape from oceans to hills plus the unique neighborhoods and businesses that call West Seattle home.

·        To bring joy, excitement, traffic, and commerce to our community through a feel-good contest that brings the community together to celebrate our West Seattle neighborhood.

 Who is it for?

·        Primary: West Seattle natives who know our community, have a little competitive spirit, and love a good challenge

·        Secondary: broader Seattle neighborhoods who are interested in the thrill of treasure hunting  

What to expect

·        Avalon Glassworks has created 100 hand-blown glass floats for this event.

·        Local West Seattle businesses who have sponsored float(s) will be hiding them either in their place of business or out in our local parks.

·        Each glass float will be placed in a jute bag and will have a sponsor tag attached. On that tag, there will be a QR code for the finder to register the float they just found along with the location, the sponsor, their contact information, and a picture of the float.

·        Each day WSJA/WSCC will post finder’s information on the event website for others to see and use as helpful information as they continue to seek out other floats.

·        Clues to the float locations will be posted on the event website on the morning of their hiding date at approximately 9AM.

·        We will hide floats every day between August 8 – 15th. Each merchant we be notified of their date. WSJA/WSCC will also be hiding some additional floats on those same days to increase participation.
